Privacy Policy

1. Data We Don't Collect

Emotions Tracker is designed from the ground up to operate without collecting any personal information. Unlike most web applications, we have no database, no user accounts, and no tracking infrastructure for your journal data your moods, notes, tags,and reflections stay entirely local in your browser.

Specifically, we do not collect:

• Personally identifiable information (name, email, phone, location)
• Account credentials (we don't have accounts)
• Behavioral or cross-site tracking, device fingerprinting, or telemetry from your journal
• Advertising identifiers, referrer data, or any data entered in the app (moods, notes, tags, reflections)

The only analytics on this site is Google Analytics gathered for general, aggregate website traffic (page views, approximate device type,and general region) used solely to understand how our free emotions tracker is reaching people. It is covered in detail under "Third-Party Services" below, and it never receives any of your mood data, which remains local to your device.

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All application data is stored exclusively in your browser using the localStorage and IndexedDB APIs. This means:

• Data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it
• Data persists across browser sessions until you clear it
• Data is tied to your browser profile, not to any identity
• We cannot access, view, modify, or delete your data
• If you use multiple browsers or devices, each has its own separate data store

You can view all stored data at any time by opening your browser's developer tools (F12) and navigating to Application → Local Storage / IndexedDB.

3. Data You Control

You have complete control over your data at all times:

Export Your Data

Use the QR sync feature or the Profiles page to export your complete history as JSON or CSV. This includes all mood entries, notes, tags, timestamps, and preferences.

Delete Your Data

Clear all app data anytime by: (1) Using the "Clear All Data" option in Settings, (2) Clearing site data in browser settings, or (3) Using the browser's "Clear browsing data" feature.

Data Portability

Exported JSON files can be imported into another browser or device using the QR sync feature, giving you true data portability without vendor lock-in.

4. QR Code Sharing (Optional)

Emotions Tracker includes an optional QR code feature for syncing data between devices or sharing with trusted individuals. Important privacy notes:

• QR codes contain your encrypted data payload only someone with the QR code can decode it
• No data is sent to any server during QR generation or scanning
• QR codes work entirely peer-to-peer via WebRTC or direct device-to-device transfer
• You control exactly what data is included in each QR code
• Revoking access is as simple as not sharing the QR code

5. Third-Party Services

Emotions Tracker processes no personal data and keeps your mood data entirely on your device. The only external requests made are:

• Google Analytics (general site analytics): Used for anonymous, aggregate website traffic (page views, approximate device type,and general region).so we can understand how our free emotions tracker is reaching people. It never receives any of your mood entries, notes, tags, or reflections that data never leaves your browser. Google Analytics may set its own cookies/storage for approximate stats,and uses an IP address(text typically anonymized) for approximate geolocation. You can opt out via Google's browser opt-out extensions.
• Google Fonts (Nunito): Loaded at page load for typography. This request includes your IP address and user agent per Google's font delivery. Consider using a locally hosted font if this is a concern.
• Web3Forms (Contact page only): If you use the contact form, your message is sent to Web3Forms' API. This is optional and only applies to the Contact page.

The core app (Home, Journal, Analytics, Profiles) makes no external network requests for your mood dataand everything stays local; only anonymous, aggregate site usage may be sent to Google Analytics for general analytics purposes.

6. Children's Privacy

Emotions Tracker does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Your mood data stays in the child's own browser,and we never require an account or personal details. The only analytics, if enabled, is anonymous, aggregate Google Analytics site traffic it contains no personally identifiable informationand no child's journal content is being processed by us.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
